Different patterns of frontal and temporoparietal activities related to distinct inhibitory functions in adhd

Introduction Inhibition is a core component of executive functions but not unitary construct. Instead, different inhibitory processes have specific behavioral effects and neural bases. Three important explored by the literature are 1) interference control (i.e., inhibition distractive information); 2) prepotent responses 3) ongoing responses. These were described in self-regulation theory as possible main impairment attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) since then they shown an association with several psychiatric disorders. Objectives The current study investigated bases control, responses, assessed Stroop-matching/stop-signal task developed our group.
